Empowering the Podcast - S07 E04
Monday May 25, 2020
Monday May 25, 2020
Four years ago we gathered around a dining room table one night with some borrowed audio gear, and started sharing about our successes and our failures as parents. We had no idea how much this podcast was needed in the adoption and foster care world. Now, thanks to you, our listeners, we've had more than 300,000 downloads of the podcast.
We love that we can play a part in bringing hope, encouragement, and healing to adoptive and foster families. We are so thankful for the people who have poured into us so we could pour into others.
We get contacted on a weekly basis by people wanting to advertise on the podcast. We are committed to keeping the podcast AD FREE and only share with you things we actually use at our house. We do however have costs associated with making and producing the podcast.
In this special episode, we discuss the launch of a Patreon page to fund our ongoing work.

Friday May 15, 2020
Friday May 15, 2020
A major turning point in our family was when we chose to see difficult behavior as an opportunity for connection. We're not stuck at home with our kids during the coronavirus quarantines, rather we have an opportunity to strengthen the relationship with our children. We have to lead in our homes now more than ever. In that light, we discuss five keys to help parents out:
- Be flexible and creative
- Stay structured
- Be kind
- Talk about it
- Stay calm
